Talkeetna Aero Services, Inc. (TAS) has operated at the Talkeetna State Airport under the same ownership since 1981. TAS began as an aircraft maintenance and repairs business, and now, in addition to maintenance, holds an Air Carrier Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, operating twin engine aircraft to provide flightseeing tours of Mt. McKinley and Denali National Park. TAS offers a variety of flightseeing tours, most notably our "Summit Flight", which climbs to over 20,000 feet. TAS continues to employ its own staff to provide the highest level of maintenance to its own aircraft, while continuing to do maintenance on dozens of other commercial and private aircraft.

Talkeetna Aero Services, Inc. is family owned and operated by Eric & Geri Denkewalter, who have lived in the Talkeetna area for over 25 years. In addition to overseeing a thriving business, their involvement as medics in the Talkeetna Ambulance Service and Eric's position as Assistant Chief of the Talkeetna Volunteer Fire Department have allowed them to contribute their specialized skills to the concerns of the community.

Company President Eric Denkewalter has been flying since 1966 and received his Naval Aviator Wings with the US Marine Corps, where he flew fighter jets off aircraft carriers in Viet Nam. He is a seasoned Alaskan pilot having flown in Alaska since 1981 and has flown over 4,000 hours.

Our pilots have over 20,000 hours of combined flight time and the safety and comfort of our guests is their primary concern. Add their experience and extensive knowledge of the area to an extraordinary flight of Mt. McKinley and our guests leave us knowing they have just experienced the highlight of their visit to Alaska.

Our Denali office is located in a log cabin on the paved Healy State Airport, which is less than 15 minutes north of the Denali National Park entrance. A courtesy shuttle is available from local area hotels for those without vehicles.
